Dryads in World of Warcraft

The Dryads, the forest creatures and the friends of the night elves are is a peaceful but quite mighty race in World of Warcraft. They are the protectors of the forests and aid their brothers – the keepers of the grove. They find most of the pleasure spending their time among other forest creatures and plants.

Most of them do not leave the forests but there are some of them that are called adventuring dryads who leave the forests to explore the world. Although they share the same origin with centaurs they are very cultured and enjoy the peace. But that doesn’t mean that they are weak. On the contrary – they are very dangerous and skillful warriors when it comes to defending their home. They use spears to damage their enemies and prefer to go to a melee attack when the spears are all gone. Also they use magic to increase the damage made by spears by poisoning them and thus making the damaged enemies slower. And it it’s not enough they use the help from the elves and the keepers of the grove.

The dryads know many languages outside of their own – the Darnassian and are in most cases friendly. Also there are other types of dryads. The corrupted dryads are mutated hostile creatures, but they are considered more a myth than a reality and do not appear in World of Warcraft. Also there’s unbound dryads that lost their connection with the forest and the frost nymphs that are in more ways similar to dryads, but live in frozen woods of Northrend.
